About Danceworks
The purpose of the Society is to promote a supportive climate for dance and dance training — with particular focus on emerging, pre-professional dancers (ages 10 to 21 years) and their dance studios in the Vancouver Island area.
The primary activities of the Society include but are not limited to:
Victoria DanceWorks Festival
- providing artistic development and training opportunities
- creating an opportunity for cooperative programming in dance open to all dance organizations as well as independent performers
- raising awareness of dance in the community
- assisting dance organizations by providing a forum for promoting dance and for cooperative promotional opportunities
